Five illuminated lesbians in the collage series, Super Dykes, are canonized for their contributions to American society: Patricia Hismith, 1947; Del & Phil, 1955; Lorraine Hansberry, 1960; Barbara Gettings, 1966; and Barbara Jordan, 1970. The series is loosely structured around decades of my life. In addition to the individual portraits are embedded visual memories of social, cultural and political events that shaped our collective history. Additionally, each background is created after the style of a favorite artist who associated with that decade.
